The Rubright

The Rubright was developed through long-distance collaboration and refined by an in-home consultation, allowing the design to respond directly to the space it was built for. After an initial concept was delivered within days, material selection and proportions were carefully dialed in, guided by an understanding of how the piece would live in the home.

The design centers around eight waterfall miters that create uninterrupted grain continuity, allowing the figured wood to wrap entirely around the form. Careful selection of heartwood and sapwood introduces natural contrast and depth, while the oval-to-rectangular silhouette balances modern structure with organic movement. Substantial in presence yet refined in detail, the piece was hand delivered and installed, completing a process defined by intention at every stage.
